Supplies

  • Colored cardstock or construction paper
  • Paper plate
  • Paint (optional)
  • Paintbrush (optional)
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Groundhog template (enter your email in the form at the end of this post to have the link sent to you)

Directions

Download the groundhog template, print, and cut out the pieces you need.

If you’re making the ground brown, take the paper plate and paint it in 1-2 thin coats of brown paint. Let it dry completely before moving on.

Take the paper plate and cut the top couple of inches off of the top.

Next, glue the hole in the middle and almost to the top of the flat part of the paper plate.

Place the groundhog in the middle of the hole and glue it in place.

Glue the belly to the bottom and middle of the groundhog’s body.

Next, glue the tooth in the middle of the mouth line.

Complete the groundhog by gluing the eyes beneath both of the eyebrows.

Finish up by gluing the rocks around the front of the hole.
